Welcome to the forum.

Sorry, but I don't understand the question. What is a "tact"?

Could you post a picture of what you are trying to do?

Thore,

We need more info.

What do you mean by your word “pause”? - fermata? - rest?

And what do you mean by your word “tact”? - measure perhaps?

I could be wrong here, but could the explanation (of our confusion) be that your first language is not english?

sorry, I am German, so I use sometimes LEO for translations - but LEO is no musician... :).

"Pause" must be "rest", (break?) - funny this word from my point of view, "rest" at the beginning? :) When eating 3/4 of a cake, then the left 1/4 ist the "rest", right? :)
I tried to copy a crotchet rest from somewhere else with the selection tool, but it didn't work - why not, as the notes can be copied? next version maybe?

And tact means measure :).

How to post a picture here? I doesn't work with Snagit... :(

Thore,
do you know this? http://www.finaleforum.superflexible.net/index.php
It's the European Finale Forum and here you find a forum in German language. Might be a little easier for you. :D
