On page 2 of the document I'm tryng to distribute the 4 staves with the same separation amongst them.
When I try to move down staves 3 or 4, another pages is added automatically.

I appreciate your always valuable help

Jose,

Take a look at your system margins, with the Page Layout tool. You have HUGE spacing under the staff: 600-700 EVPUs. I changed the settings for systems 2-7 to 175 above and 100 below. I left system 1 at 400 above, and 100 below.

With those settings, I had no trouble fitting 4 systems on page 1.

Thank you, miker,
But what have you done to arrive to that view? Did you change something in Space systems evenly?

I set the system margins as I described. Then, with the staff tool, I moved the systems on page 1 up until system four jumped to page one. Finally, I applied space systems evenly, specifying 4 systems per page.

Peter will (no doubt!) have a better way, but that's what I came up with.

Sorry, miker, I don,t get it.

"600-700 EVPUs. I changed the settings for systems 2-7 to 175 above and 100 below. I left system 1 at 400 above, and 100 below."

Where can I see those figures (600-700 EVPU,...), please, once I am already using the Page Layout tool?

It is in the dialog box Edit System Margins:
Page Layout menu > Systems > Edit Margins…

However, the dialog box Edit System Margins displays the system margins with the Measurements Units you have selected for Finale.
If you have selected EVPUs as Measurement Units for Finale, then you will see ‘600-700’.
But if you have selected e. g. Points as Measurement Units, then you will instead see ‘150-175’, since 1 Point = 4 EVPUs.

When entering measurement values in a field in Finale you can change the measurement units "on the fly" by typing in a number, followed by
e for EVPUs (or evpus, or EVPUs)
pt for points (or pts, or points)
s for spaces (or sp, or spaces)
i for inches (or in, or inch, or inches)
c for centimeters (or cm, or centimeters)
m for millimeters (or mm, or millimeters)
(BTW, these are all listed in the online docs, I think in the section on the Measurement Units submenu.) For example, I usually leave the default units to Points, but if I want to move an articulation over a small amount, I just type "2e" in the H box in the Change Articulation Assignments dialog, and Finale does the rest.

Note: When you’re overriding the global setting in this way, you even have an extra unit option (millimeters) not available in the menu for Measurement Units.

Thank you, Peter,
but still I don't get it.
I found your route
PAGE LAYOUT/SYSTEMS/EDIT MARGINS.

Once I am there I don't see but numbers. I don't see "cms, mms,..."

I've got This dialogue:

Top 0,5
Left 0,40625 0,5 Right
0,5 Bottom

Which of these numbers must I change to make appear the page as miker sent me?
Where do I have to go to set every value in centimeters?

In the Edit menu, do you have Edit/Measurement Units?

Here is the result from a search of the manual:

Try this:

Go to
Document menu > Page Format > Score…

- and enter the following values:
PageFormatForScore.jpg
PageFormatForScore.jpg (66.83 KiB) Viewed 5627 times
Note that you follow the number values by the letter ‘e’ - telling Finale that these values are EVPUs.

When you have entered the values, go to
Page Layout menu > Redefine Pages > All Pages of Current Part/Score

After this Redefine Pages, you will have a consistent layout, just as in the document Mike attached.

By The Way:
If you now (= after Redefine Pages) examine the system margins in each system, you will see that all systems have margins as specified in Page Format for Score.
