When I first installed Finale I was very pleased with the sound of the piano. Then, out of the blue, the sound changed - it's tinny, hollow, and sounds like a cheap keyboard. To the best of my knowledge I did not change any settings. Any help?

Welcome to the forum!

The playback sounds are document specific, not program specific.
If you examine your saved documents, you might find that they do not all use the same piano sound.

You can see what sounds are used, in the Score Manager, in the chiclet Instrument List.

I have two 'piano' sounds in my file - and I've tried both. No change.

Let me get this straight:

When you first installed Finale, you created only one Finale document, with a piano sound.
And you were very pleased with the sound of the piano, right ?

And today you still have only that 1 (one) document ???
You have not created any other documents since you first installed Finale ???

And now the piano sound in this document has changed, right ?
