Hello everybody.
Please write me what I must do to draw line below the text precisely beside the text.
From some reason Finale 2012 hasn't write line in measures 121 and 122 in second stuff but in other measures does.

You aren't getting the word extension because the space is too short where you just have two notes.
You can try moving the lyric a little to the left with the selection tool, moving the second notes a little to the right with the beat spacing tool, or draw them manually with the Lyric Tool>Edit Word Extensions.

Yes. Lower staff, mm 120-121, there should be an extender because the lyric spans two tied eighth notes. If they were quarter notes instead, no extension would he needed.

Regardless of the values, or whether tied or slurred, the word extension is proper and common. The trigger is the key. Spreading the notes out would give the extension, I'm sure. If we could see the Finale file, we could experiment and possibly suggest a solution.

I have a feeling the O.P. meant mm. 120-121, not 121-122.Ronald J Brown wrote:motet wrote:Yes, but we are talking about single 1/8th notes--the final very short staccato notes in the given passage.

1. You've assigned the syllables to the Layer 2 notes, which are offset to the right. As a result, there is less space to add the extension.
2. You can decrease the minimum length of an extension in Document Option > Lyrics > Word Extensions > Minimum Length. This will allow shorter extension lines.
3. Turn on Consolidate Rests in Document Options > Layers to join the rests in both layers.

In barbershop, an offset lyric like that would be shifted to align with the chord, rather than the note. Just doing that might give you the word extension.
