I viewed an earlier post asking this question for a previous version of finale (I am now using Finale 25, so I'll have to update that on my account details), but its solution is no longer applicable.

My problem is that every time I use something from certain palettes like the Smart Shape or Special Tools palette and then use anything else like the Simple Entry Tool, the palettes keep disappearing if they're not active. Where's the setting where I can fix this? And I wonder why Finale doesn't make it so that the default setting makes it so that the palettes permanently stay once checked in Window and don't disappear until manually unchecked.

This is a program Preference, Palettes and Backgrounds, Close subsidiary palettes when leaving tool--uncheck it.
