Hello
Perhaps this is a strange question, I will try to be as clear as possible, hope you will understand.

Erroneously I've made a piece in 4/4 at 45 bpm using quaver notes when I should have set the time at 90 bpm using quarter notes.
Is there an easy way to double the length of each note in the entire piece, so the music will still sound right at 90 bpm?

TIA

Should the time signature be changed to 4/2 - so that the barlines (and the number of measures) remain the same?

Anyway, you can double all durations with the utility:

Utilities menu > Change > Note Durations…
