Using V25 Trial
Win 10 ASUS Laptop
I need help and direction with grace notes for percussion in general and snare drum specifically.
How do I add 1, 2 or 3 grace notes to a 1/4 note fora snare drum?
Search talks about slashes and tutorial...?

In Simple Entry, I would select both the sixteenth note AND the grace note icons, and click them into the score with the mouse. I'm sure there there are better ways, but it works for me.

Simple Entry uses the Alt-G shortcut** to turn the currently selected note into a grace note, and Command G ** to toggle the Grace note tool.

** On Mac. Windows shortcut may/may not be different.

Same shortcut in Mac: Opt-G. The only issue is just like triplets on the last beat, where the measure can get overloaded before you change them into grace notes.

Speedy Entry let's you turn off "jump to next measure" so that doesn't happen. I wonder why Simple doesn't.

You can turn off "Check for Extra Notes," but it's not really the same thing, I think.

No, that's different. Speedy has both.

That's why you use Command G to load the grace note tool before you add the note. Then toggle it off for the final real note of the measure.

I never thought of doing it first. I'm so used to entering the note, and then making the change; dot, accidentals, triplet...

I'll certainly give it a whirl. Thanks.

If the measure ends with grace notes, there doesn't seem to be any way of doing it in Simple except clicking them in with the mouse.
