I'm trying to break a beam over a rest.
Any suggestions?
Beam break tool? I don't know how to work it.

I suppose that you mean measure 8 in the Cello staff, right?
At least that is the only example I could find.

Here is a way:
Simple Entry Tool.
Select the ‘e’ (= the entry after the 8th rest), and go to
Simple menu > Simple Edit Commands > Modify Entry > Break/Join Beam

In the sub-menu Finale shows a keyboard shortcut for Break/Join Beam.
You might like to memorize it.

If - On The Other Hand - you prefer that Finale by default breaks the beam, as you enter more music into the document, go to
Document Options - Beams
and de-select the option “Include Rests when Beaming in Groups of Four”.
NB:
This change will only affect new beams.
Already existing beams will not be affected until you Rebeam the music (Utilities menu).
