Hi, I am using Finale V25, Windows 10, on a Lenovo Ideapad 510S, and a Eminent Omegan DCS 300 connected via Roland UM-ONE.
The notation is a half tone too low. Is there a way (setting) too always remedy this directly on input?

Do you mean that the played notes on your MIDI keyboard are being displayed half a tone too low on the page?

Firstly, check that the staff is not set to transpose the note. Then check that your MIDI keyboard is not playing the notes down. What happens if you play the keyboard in another app?

Thanks. The notes are indeed displayed too low, see enclosed file. Transposition is not set. The organ itself is in tune with both my acoustic piano and digital keyboard. I have no other app yet to test.
However, I did use the (digital) keyboard (with its own cable) with Finale on the laptop, and that gave a normal result.

I gather that the fault lies with organ and/or Roland UM-One converter. The converter is brand new (and the organ is not).
What do you think? Is a remedy within Finale possible?

Is there a pitch-bending wheel on this device?

Yes it does, and with this knob the tone can be lowered max. a half step, thus a C becomes the adjacent B. However: the notation in Finale remains the same: the scale in C still starts with the B half set below. Curious, isn't it?. All tones on the scale are a half step too low. I suppose the use of this knob is not involved in the Midi-output?

There are things you can do to test MIDI output. Sometimes disconnecting and shutting down clears glitches. Trying a different channel can also be one experiment.

I tried the following:

- another music notation programme: similar result, i.e. C becomes B, entire scale half tone lower

- disconnecting laptop and organ, shutting down lap top, idem organ, reboot, restart, reconnect: no success

- un-install and re-install Finale: no success

Then, starting afresh, I changed the MIDI channel in screen midi set-up: still the notation is wrong, but now the playback tones given by the laptop are correct! Curious and Curiouser

Perhaps this does ring a bell for someone?
Further suggestions welcome

If this is happening in another program, then Finale is not to blame. I would have saved the step of reinstalling Finale.

There has to be a transmit setting somewhere that is transposing by 1/2 step. Don't try to fix this in Finale, as it doesn't seem to be the cause.

Is the sound coming out of the organ speakers correct? If so, look in the manual for the organ to learn how to set the MIDI to factory defaults. Turning the organ off may not do that, but possibly unplugging the organ will. Maybe there is a Transpose knob on the organ.

I tried to get information at the Eminent website, but no such luck so far. Any MIDI device has a factory reset method, and that might be what is needed. Usually it involves holding certain buttons down while powering up.

A factory reset, that might help, I'll make some calls today to find out more about it.

There's not some sort of "baroque pitch" setting, is there?
