Working with V25 on a MAC.

Trying to get a finger snap sound added, but can't.
I was able to add a staff called "Snap" but when I go to enter sounds they show as a bunch of other percussion sounds.
All I want is a simple finger snap on beats 2 and 4. When I tried to "reassign playback sounds" I got no sound at all.

You might be able to find a sound that simulates a fingersnap by auditing some of the exotic instruments that come with Finale. Another option you might have is to Google search for a VST plugin that offers the sound you want. As a last resort, free software, like SFZ designer, might let you create your own plugin.

Whenever I want to add a custom sound, I export the individual audio tracks as wav files into Audacity, where I can record the sound then mix it down to stereo. The latter offers more control and far better mixing capabilities, including EQ, panning, compression, etc.

UVI PlugsoundPro has finger snaps. It's a very versatile and inexpensive VST library that works fine in Finale. From time to time it's on sale for about $80. http://www.uvi.net/en/orchestral-compos ... d-pro.html

Current sale price is $104.30. I use it for a number of things—sometimes, it has exactly what you are looking for.
