Hello All,

I am currently writing some drum set music on Notepad 2012 for Windows, and I am trying to create some slash notations to indicate to repeat a pattern. I need the "Staff Tool" to be able to do this, and it isn't visible within my main tool bar. What is visible is attached.

My assumption is that I am missing out on this feature because this is the Notepad 2012 version and not the paid for version of Finale. Please let me know if I am missing out on something!

Thanks and take care.

Jacob

That is the case. NotePad lacks most of the features of the full program. You can still buy PrintMusic 2014.5 for Windows (which has the slash notation staff style) but MM has already said that it will not be upgraded any further.

Although PrintMusic lists for $119.95, there are a number of resellers who offer it at $99.95 and you might find it for less if you shop around.

With the trade-up price of $200 at MakeMusic.com, PM is the least expensive path I know to the full version of Finale if you do not have a comparable pro notation app that qualifies for a competitive upgrade (aka crossgrade). MM has been known to have a sale on the trade-up, too — the last one was in September.
