I'm trying to hide a time signature. I learned that I need to use the "Measure Tool" to do this. However, I cannot find the Measure Tool in Finale NotePad. I see: a "Simple Entry Tool," a "Key Signature Tool" and many other tools, but not the "Measure Tool." Does it exist in Notepad, or do I actually have to <gasp> spend money and get a better Finale product? If it exists in Notepad, where is it?

Thanks!

NotePad can't do what you want. It is a limited program.

There are a LOT of things you can't do in NotePad.

They are running an upgrade special, through tomorrow. If you own an older version of Finale, upgrading is only $99. I don't know if there is a special on a new license, though. You could try it. Go through the purchase procedure, and when you get to the appropriate window, enter the promo code: PARTYLIKEITS99. If the final price is too much, don't pull the trigger! But it's certainly worth a look.

So, if I want to hide time signatures, I will need Finale PrintMusic for $119.95 (I don't have any earlier version and so cannot upgrade) or do I need to spring for the more expensive $600 Finale product.

If, in general, I am just composing music for my church choir, will I need what the $600 product has to offer?

Thanks!

Sorry, but you can’t hide time signatures or key signatures in PrintMusic, either. You can, however, change them.

For simple church music, PM should work. There will be a few “gotchas” but there are workarounds for many of them.

Keep in mind, though, that PM for Mac has already been discontinued, and the Windows version will no longer be developed.
