Finale V25
Windows 10 64 bit
ASUS lap Top

I've been using Finale V25 just under one year.
I've done a Search on how to use/access Finale Percussion Font without success.
I found something about using the Expression Tool, but nothing about how to insert the pictographs into a score.
(Mallets for Timpani)
Any and all help and direction will be appreciated.

Thanks, PM

Start simple by going to the miscellaneous category and choose the button to create an expression. Choose the Finale Percussion Font in the Font slot. Then, using the Text menu item at the top of the box, choose Insert, and in the sub-menu choose Symbol. Find the one you want from the list there. If it is not the right size, choose a bigger or smaller font size. Then insert this into the score where needed.

Problem.
After entering the symbols,
the playback is totally messed up. Completely.
I made no other changes that could have affected the playback. None.
Any suggestions.

It might depend on how things were set up. Can you post a small sample file with the playback problem so we can help figure out what happened?

Could someone tell me how to post a sample of a score?
I tried, but it was too big.
Thanks

So now I have printed the score with the symbols and then removed them.
The score plays perfectly.
Now I'm having trouble burning the score to a disc.

Finale V25
ASUS Laptop
Windows 10 64 bit

Ok, Zuili.
I think I can post some of the score. The first time I tried, it was too big.
A couple issues here are: The is a pause in measure 5 and it slows down in measure 14,
Hope you can figure something out.
Thanks.

Human Playback is the cause. It looks for certain slots (character numbers) to trigger certain effects. The slot number for the Bass drum (I thingk that is what you have there) is the same slot Human Playback uses for the Fermata in the Maestro font. So, it is doing a fermata.

One workaround I use is to create a shape expression. Choose the Finale Percussion font in the shape designer, and choose 24pt. Then, click by the circle in the center of the window to get the cursor. Enter shift-U (which invokes the slot needed). That should give the Bass Drum symbol. Human Playback doesn't recognize expression shapes, so you shouldn't get the pause anymore.

Aside from the advice I gave in the last post, I am guessing there might also be corruption in this file. I tried 3 times to go into Studio View, and it crashed Finale 3 times.
