Corrupt Files

I am a newbie on the Forum, but I have been using Finale a good few years. I have tried searching the Forum but cannot find an answer!
I had a drive with many Finale .mus and .musx files. I have recovered them but without their respective original file names (just numbers). When I try to open any of these files, I get the error message: Invalid file type, file 'D:\......... appears to be corrupt, attempting to continue, but resulting document may be unstable.' A few OK clicks later nothing opens, I am left with Finale Window opened with nothing showing.
I am certain this misfortune must have happened to other members ( and become as sickened as I feel). However, some members may have fixed it, or found a software solution to fix this... can anyone please help, I don't relish losing many years of work? I appreciate and thank any helpful replies.
