I can't figure out how to edit multiple scores that are open at the same time, so that I can copy from one to the other.

Normally, I'd just run another copy of Finale, but I can't figure out how to do that either ...

I open one, and then the other. Does this not work for you?

I suspect that the problem is a Windows problem.

Anyway, you do not have to have two Finale documents open at the same time.
You can open one document, select the relevant region, and copy to the (Finale) Clipboard.
Then, close the document, open the other document, select, and paste.

Also, you can use Clip Files where you store the copied region..
Read in the Finale manual about Clip Files.

I often work with two Finale documents in Windows, usually to copy material from one file to another. I don't know what problem others have encountered doing this.

Open both files. Then select "Window" and then one of the choices that are listed beneath "arrange icons." Tile, cascade, etc.

You can't run a second copy of Finale.

I suspect there's just a misunderstanding here. Finale opens files maximized within its window. If you pull down the Window menu you'll see the list of files open at the bottom, and you can switch between them there to do you copying and pasteing. If you want to be able see both files at once, then you need to unmaximize the file windows by clicking the icon at the upper right corner as shown in the picture below. Make sure you click the icon for the document window rather than the Finale window itself.

Motet, perhaps I don't understand your post. I launch Finale, then open two different files. Even with the Finale window maximized, all I have to do is select from the Finale menu: Window/Tile Window Horizontally and both files display, one above the other.

I didn't know about Tile Windows, etc., but I never have occasion to display two files at once. Sounds better than what I suggested, and I see now that you suggested it above.
