When I use more than 1 layer I end up with rests in each layer. For example, if I have a measure that begins with a quarter rest in each layer, two quarter rests show up (one for each layer), but neither are centered vertically on the staff. I know how to hide the rest in one layer, but haven't yet figured out how to move the other rest so it is centered vertically on the staff. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Bryan

Drag it or use the * key (you might have to hit * twice to unlock and then recenter it).

What program are you using?
If you are using Finale or Allegro, you can customize the document's default vertical position of rests in Layers.
From your description it sounds like you would like to set the vertical position to zero in both Layer 1 and Layer 2.

Dragging didn't work, but I did change the settings for the layers in the document options and that worked!
Thanks so much!
