Hi,

I'm using Finale 2008.

Whenever I copy and paste a measure, either the line that contained the original measure or the destination line slightly change format.

The final measure in the line is closed off, but then shows unclosed barlines continuing on a little.

I don't like the look of this. Is there a way to stop this from happening? I'm guessing it's a setting, but I haven't been able to find it.

I suppose that you mean unclosed staff lines (horizontal), not unclosed barlines (vertical)?

My guess is that an Update Layout will fix the problem.
But before you update layout, you might want to select all (Selection Tool), and apply music spacing (= hit the number 4 key).

Hi Peter,

Yes, you are right, I meant the staff lines, not the barlines. Thank you.

However, I tried what you suggested and it did not work. I continue to see unclosed staff lines at the end of a line, which is not acceptable for what I am transcribing.

Any other suggestions? I can copy/paste partial measures without a problem, but that isn't ideal, especially since the program allows for easy, whole measure drag and drop.

It's often easier to find the culprit when you have the actual Finale document to examine.

Could you e-mail me a Finale .mus document that demonstrates the issue?
