I scanned a score and now I cannot make any modifications to the score at all. Just for starters I am trying to add a simple whole note, but all it does is ding at me.
Any ideas?

Revised Update:
The measure has a quarter rest, quarter note, and half note. I'm trying to add a whole note to the chord (under the quarter rest) but all it will let me do is change the rest to a quarter note. I'm assumming that it won't let me because it thinks that I'm trying to turn a 4 count measure into a 6 count.
So how do I get it to understand this whole notes is not part of the above listed note progression?
Sorry for the multiple updates. I'm figuring stuff out as I wait, and the help file is awful.

To have multiple parts in the same staff, use layers.
You can switch layers in the lower left corner of the document window.
By default Layer 1 displays in Black,
Layer 2 displays in Red,
Layer 3 displays in Green,
Leyer 4 displays in Blue.

Finale is pretty complicated to figure out as you go. Why not take the time to do the tutorials and watch the videos? It will save you a LOT of frustration.Stacey wrote: I'm figuring stuff out as I wait, and the help file is awful.
