Here's my first question...performing...
Moderators: Peter Thomsen, miker
Do any of the Finale versions have a function similar to that of the MusicReader software where the screen can be rotated to be viewed on a sideways laptop.......and then a foot switch attached to turn pages?
I am interested in both composition as well as performance and haven't seen a "performance" mode in the Finale documentation.

About the first half of your question (the foot switch, I don't know, and I agree it would be a good feature request) : rotating the screen is not a problem.
On my Mac, I have a screen that can pivot, and I occasionally use it vertically. I just have to change the orientation ("rotation 90 degrees") in the system preferences, which takes 10 seconds.

Many Windows laptops let you press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Left Arrow] to rotate the screen 90 degrees counterclockwise. If you can secure a wireless mouse on the floor, it may be doable.
To rotate the screen back to "normal", press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Up Arrow].
For me, it quickly became apparent that printing out the music and putting it on a stand is currently easier. That said, I would love to run two pages abreast in a 21" widescreen monitor, with some reasonable foot-way of advancing one page at a time. If I can dream a bit, then let it advance as soon as I am playing the page on the right.
