selection tool not working

When using the selection tool I'm stuck with a crosshair, instead of a pointer (arrow), and the crosshair doesn't select anything.

Have you tried restarting the computer?

Please add the program you're using to your signature, in the forum Control Panel.

I have also suddenly found my selection tool is not working in my new Finale Print 2011. I restarted my computer (a MacPro 2011) - still nothing!
If anyone finds a solution please tell me.

Is this in all documents, or just one particular one?

Try switching tools and clicking in the score couple of times. When mine "sticks" that will generally free it up.
