I am working with some younger flute and trumpet players in a praise band. They seem to have an easier time reading flats especially when they are above the clef. I know you can use the Speedy entry tool to change a note to its enharmonic equivalent and that you can do a search and replace, after selecting the notes you want to have changed.

Is there a "change all sharps to enharmonic equivalent" command in finale somewhere?

Thanks
Thanks

Jim

Chapter 6-4 of the manual should help you.
Take a look at the Options menu, Enharmonic spelling. "favor flats" is one of the many options you have.
Also, in Speedy entry, if 9 does it for single notes, option-9 allows you to change accidentals of a whole measure to their enharmonic equivalents.

You're talking about notes that have already been entered, yes? My memory thinks there's a Note Mover method for this, but I'm not certain where this lives in F2004.

Thanks, I have printed out the chapters. And yes, the notes are entered and the entered and note mover works fine, just a lot of work.

I use transpose. i.e. a passage in F-flat major can be transposed to E Major by choosing transpose: down chromatically, by diminished 2nd.

Jack,
This is a 12 year old thread. The poster has probably moved on...

Ha! That's funny! I make that mistake all the time...not noticing that the thread is older than my son.
