Hello...

I have a few questions.... I hope somebody is able to help me.....

1) How do I extend an hairpin over two systems?

2) Is the only way to render a # tr with another layer and the single notes?

3) I've noticed that after a repeat, when the music goes back to the first measure which is marked as p, it is not soft, but loud. Do you know why?

Thank you very much for your help!!

Paul

Please tell, what program and version you are using.
PrintMusic 2004?
Finale 2002?
Or?

1. "How do I extend a hairpin over two systems?"

Use Scroll View instead of Page View.
You can see many measures at the same time if you view at a low zoom percentage (75 %? ; 50 %? ; or?).

2. "Is the only way to render a # tr with another layer and the single notes?"

I don't understand your question.

What is a # tr?
Do you mean a tr symbol with a sharp accidental indicating that the upper trill tone should be "sharped", e. g. [E natural - F sharp] instead of [E natural - F natural]?

And what do you mean by the word "render"?
Layout?
Playback?

3. "I've noticed that after a repeat, when the music goes back to the first measure which is marked as p, it is not soft, but loud. Do you know why?"

That's hard to tell without knowing a little more:
Program and version?
How was the repeat created?
How was the p created?

Hi,

Thanks for your answer. I'm using Finale 2004.

Yes, with # tr I meant that the upper trill tone should be sharped, and with render I meant for playback.

The repeat was created with the plugin "easy repeats", and the p as an expression. It works alright the first time, but not the second time.

Thanks again for your help.

Hello again,

It worked perfectly with the hairpins in scroll mode, but it doesn't seem to work with slurs, that is to say, when I go back to page mode, the slur appears to go over the margin of the page.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Go to the smart shape menu and open the options for slurs, there you can set many things.
