I need to add an articulation of two dots (and sometimes also three dots) to a lot of different notes. It seems not possible with the articulation tool to create an articulation of more than one symbol.

With the lyrics tool it's easy to insert, but it seems iimpossible to to individually position the notes. With the text tool this is possible, but it is a lot of work... Are there any easy solutions?

It can be done in the expression tool. You can create double dots, triple dots or more complex text strings, even mixing fonts.
Then apply the text expression to the note as note attached. Maybe you can pre-position the expression more precisely by default using the "text expression designer" window.

It is possible!

The secret is that you create the articulation, not as a "Character" articulation, but rather as a "Shape" articulation.
In the Articulation Designer, look in the pane "Symbols".

You create the shape in the Shape Designer, a very powerful tool with some useful subtools.
Among the Shape Designer's subtools is the Text Tool which allows you to create a "text block" of several font characters, from several fonts!
You can also create several "one-character text blocks", and position these "one-character text blocks" relative to each other, to form a compound symbol.
