I'm transcribing a hymn with 5 verses of lyrics.
After the last verse has been entered, I need to add 3 measures for an Alleluia.

When I add the 3 measures Finale draws lines behind every verse thru my 3 measures.. I can't figure out how to get rid of the lines or avoid them...??? any suggestions?

Thanks
Wayne

I created a double bar line and the lines disappeared.... I'll make a note!

The lines are word extensions. In your original, they stopped at the end of the song. When you added the extra measures, they carried forward until they hit a rest or, as you found out, a double barline. (Which, I might add, doesn't always stop it.)

You can also get rid of them by going to Lyrics Menu > Edit Word Extensions, which will put a handle at the end of each one. Click the handle, and either drag it back to where you want it to end, or DELETE to remove it. Another method is to click in an eighth grace rest where it should stop, and hide it.

I always take a beating when I express this opinion, but I wouldn't use word extensions in hymns. Slurs generally do the job. Consult your favorite hymnal.
