script macros in V27 help
Moderators: Peter Thomsen, miker
I'm trying to write a script or macro? to create a shortcut for something that takes me a few mouse clicks to do. Is there a step by step video for v27? I can see one for v26 but script editor has different look/layout so can't find what I need.

If you can be more specific, someone here might be able to help, too.jmus wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 2:18 pmI'm trying to write a script or macro? to create a shortcut for something that takes me a few mouse clicks to do. Thanks for Facebook suggestion.
Motet what I'm trying to write a macro for is:
Highlight a section or notes
click on utility then change noteheads to
selected noteheads
scroll down list and pick the one I'm working with most
Hoping I can find some way to shortcut the process?

It is still pretty labour intensive for something I use multiple times so writing a shortcut would be useful. Can't seemt to find a 'how to' for this version of Finale, only for v26 and its not the same layout.
You can do it less "labour intensive" by using JW Change - make your selections and save them with the Sequence Editor as a sequence. You can assign a shortcut to bring up JW Change and all you have to do is click on Apply the sequence which will remember your steps and choice of notehead. Since that sequence is now part of your JW Change plug-in, you can use it in any document.

Thanks, this is something I didn't realise JW had. Works well, though for me the notehead choice is limited on JW. Certainly useful for lots of things, so thank you for showing this!mmike wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 9:42 pmYou can do it less "labour intensive" by using JW Change - make your selections and save them with the Sequence Editor as a sequence.
