Even using the handbell template, I'm not finding the "standard" gyro symbol. Does it exist anywhere?

I am sorry, but I do not know what the "standard" gyro symbol should look like.

I might be able to help if I knew, what to look for.

Could you attach an image of it here?

It's in the Finale Percussion font. A utility like PopChars makes it easy to find and insert into your document. If you need it a lot, consider creating an articulation.

I don't seem to have a font called "FinalePercussion" on Finale Mac 2014. Is it supposed to be installed by Finale or is it a third party font?

Welcome to the forum.

It should have been installed by Finale. If you don't find it, you can contact tech support to see how to get it.

I don't know how or why but it was "disabled". I was able to re-enable the font using the application FontBook. Another Finale font (alpha notes or something like that) was also listed as "off" in FontBook so I enabled that one as well.

Strange.
