When I opened my document, the last page was completely blank. When I started trying to mess around and fix it, I noticed that all the music on the last page would appear when I switched the tool I was in. However, when I would scroll around the music and the last page would be out of the window, when I would go back to the last page, the music was gone again.

This is very frustrating, and I'm in a time crunch so please help me out!

Welcome to the forum!

1) From your description it sounds like you are viewing the document in Page View, right?
And it sounds like you can not see the last measures of the document, right?
What about Scroll View?
Can you see the last measures in Scroll View?
If the missing measures are visible in Scroll View, then proceed to 2).

2) My first guess would be that you need to Update Layout:
Utilities menu > Update Layout

3) Another possible culprit could be that the missing measures are “hidden” inside a Multimeasure Rest.
Multimeasure Rests are visible in Page View only (not in Scroll View).
This culprit is less likely in a multi-staff view (many instruments), more likely in a single-staff view (a single instrument, or a linked part).
Try this:
Selection Tool.
Select All.
Edit menu > Multimeasure Rests > Create

Thanks Peter!

Unfortunately neither of the options worked. :(

This may help to add.

When I try selecting the notes themselves from the vanishing music and move them around they don't even appear when they are highlighted. Its almost like the notes that kept dissappearing are the problem and not the display...

I copied the notes and put them on a later measure, and the blank staves left on the page that originally would disappear were back to normal.

This is extremely hard to explain and I know it must be confusing, so if you or anyone else has anymore insight, please lend a hand! This is very frustrating

I know this is from a few months ago, but it just happened to me - but I just figured out what was happening AND how to fix it.

For some reason in Page Layout view in my score, entire lines would be invisible when I was on the last page and zoomed in to 200%. 3-4 systems were still visible at the top of the screen and when I would scroll down, more lines would appear (so that there was always 3-4 instrument lines on the screen) - but the bottom 2/3 of the screen would remain blank. When I would listen to it, the invisible parts did play.

Once I zoomed out to 75%, I noticed the paper size for my last page was a lot longer than my other pages. So I went to PAGE LAYOUT - PAGE SIZE and set all pages to the same. Then while still in Page Layout mode, I noticed the bottom page margin line (the dotted line that goes the full width of the page) on the last page was about halfway up my score. I moved it down using the handle to where it should be and now everything is perfect.

I have no idea WHY it did this, but I hope this helps other users.

I also have a disappearing page 8. I tried all the suggestions, and nothing works. I'm uploading the file as an attachment. Page 8 pops on and off. It is visible and audible in scrolling mode, but not in page mode. I copied the music and pasted it into a new file, and the same thing happens.

I would appreciate it if you could figure out a way to fix this, and if you could update the program to make sure it doesn't happen again. It's the first time it has happened to me.

Thanks

Page 8 shows for me. Did you update the layout?

I updated the layout. I tried reformatting the systems. No matter what I do, as soon as I move the curser on page 8, everything on that page disappears except for the handles. If I try moving through that page, I get little windows of partial measure components (sometimes notes, sometimes staff lines).

I tried restarting the computer. That didn't change anything.

It only happens on page 8.

It is strange and very annoying.

I use Windows, so this might be a Mac only issue. Have you recreated your preferences?

I agree with Zuill, it's probably corrupt preferences.

Didn't work for me. The measures are there, they play back, I see them in parts. But they're utterly missing in Score. And they show neither in Scroll View nor Page View.

Try exporting as XML, and importing it back in.
