Hi all!

I have a situation where the the rests I'm creating in Layer 2 are colliding with the notes in Layer 1 (see the attached image). Right now, I'm moving each rest down individually. But, this is a pattern that I'm using for almost 16 bars at a time, so moving each rest individually is tedious. Is there a way to do this in one mass edit?

Thank you!
Kevin

Document Options/Layers, you should see an offset setting of 6. Making that 8 will move the rests one space further away, 10 two spaces, etc. Beware, though, that it's a universal change, so you might find yourself with unnecessarily wide gaps elsewhere.

Here is an idea:

Switch to Layer 2.

Document menu > Show Active Layer Only
(This also means “Edit Active Layer Only”)

Selection Tool.
Select the region with the rests you need to move.

Plug-ins menu > Note, Beam, and Rest Editing > Move Rests…

I believe JW Change will also allow you do do this regionally.

Thanks Peter! This worked great. Also, I found out that the plug-in doesn't require that I isolate the active layer. It'll let me choose which layer to edit.

I need to check out JW plug-ins! I don't have any right now, but that needs to be on my to-do list.

Cool! I didn't know about this setting. I'll check it out. Thank you!
