Hello everyone,

is it possible to import the dynamics from a Midi-File into Finale.

And i dont mean the general loundness but actual Dynamic-signs as , p,mp,mf,f and so on ?

Not as far as I know. MIDI sends note information, but nothing more.

Welcome to the forum!

The dynamics in a MIDI file are MIDI velocity data.
Unfortunately there is no “fixed” definition of, what velocity level that corresponds to p, to mp, to mf &c.
You will have to define the levels yourself.

You will need a Finale plug-in that can translate the MIDI velocity data into dynamic expressions.

Finale comes with a such plug-in:
Plug-ins menu > Expressions > Auto-Dynamic Placement…

I suggest that you try it.
