Why do the staff lines disappear before the barline when there is a cautionary key signature at the end of the line? Or why are the barline and cautionary key signature so far past the end of the staff? Screenshot1.jpg shows what the problem is. So you can get a better idea, I also took a screenshot (screenshot2.jpg) after moving the right system margin from the edge of the page.

Without seeing an actual Finale document we can only guess..

My first guess would be that you should try an Update Layout.

You are using Finale 2000, right?
I have not been using Finale 2000 for many years.
I am not sure where the command Update Layout is located in Finale 2000.
Does Finale 2000 have a Utilities menu?

I did try an Update Layout (Ctrl+U) but it did not fix the problem. I'm not sure what you mean by a Utilities menu. Yes, Finale 2000.

Well, I guess it had something to do with the page resizing? Because I was messing around with the page size on that page to see if I could fit two staves on that page without it getting too small, changed my mind, and when I used "undo", the floating barline and cautionary key signature were magically right where they were supposed to be. A bizarre little glitch which I imagine has been addressed in the last 16 years!
