Hi there guys
I am writing my first contemporary music score. I absolutely need to create a beam that walk all over a piece of the piano staff without ANY visible RESTS!
any advices? I know how to create a beam over the rests but I can't understand why if you hide the rests the beam come back to a normal single 8th's beam !! it is absolutely crazy!!
thank you so much

Welcome to the forum.
Rather than hiding the rests, move them off the page.
It would probably help if you could post a picture of what you want to achieve.

You can use the plug-in Move Rests to move the rests down below the bottom of the page.
In that way the rests will not print, even if they are not hidden.

Hi there guys and thank you all
I think that the idea of moving the rests off the page is an amazing solution!
Anyway i will post a little picture of the result I would like to reach. It is from Toward the Sea of Toru Takemitsu!

A picture is worth 1.000 words.
Some additional ideas:
1) To create the long arrows I would use the Smart Shape Tool’s sub-tool Custom Line Tool.
2) I would also use the Custom Line Tool to create the long “duration beams” after the stemless noteheads.
3) The grace notes can give alignment problems where you need them aligned (synchronized) between the two instruments.
In a such case it might be easier to use “normal” notes (hidden tuplets), and resize the notes to grace note size.

Well guys
I've done the most of the jove I had to do ! The most terrifying thing was the auto setting for the bars organization that gave me a lot of work to do to lock it in the right position. Anyway it is a graphic work being that it is pretty impossible to create a good playback on that kind of things !! =)
Thank you so much I will write you soon for other things =D
