Hi All, First post here, but long time Finale user. In a piece I've composed I have a section where I have 8th notes in the left hand. I want to add an option to play a somewhat harder part that consists of triplet 16th notes that start on the same notes as the eighth note part. I've added the part in layer 2, but I really want the part to appear in small notes about the size of grace notes. How do I do that?
I've tried adding the part as grace notes, that didn't work. The first note appears before the 8th note and that makes the whole thing look wrong.
FYI, Finale 2014.5 on Windows 7.
Thanks,
Steve Chandler
Need secondary part in small notes??

Enter the "active" line in Layer 2. Stay in that layer 2.
In the Document menu -> check "Show Active Layer Only"
Selection Tool.
Select the measure, then Utilities -> Change -> Note size
In the Document menu -> uncheck "Show Active Layer Only.
Another way is via the plug-in JW Change (to be installed) -> Note Entries -> Resize, with a filter limiting the effect to Layer 2.

Thanks both of you, that worked perfectly. I liked being able to vary the percentage of size reduction, it allowed me to select a size that looked perfect for the score.
Thanks again,
