Hi there,

I've been looking for some scores/videos that demonstrate what Finale + the built-in Garritan instruments can do.

Apart from the sample files that come with the software, does anyone know where I can find stuff like that?

Many thanks!
Tim

Welcome to the forum!

MakeMusic has a Finale blog.
Do you know MakeMusic’s Finale blog?

If I Recall Correctly, the Finale blog sometimes has links to Finale documents that demonstrate various layout and playback tricks.

I do know the other forum as well. (I wanted to ask what the difference between the two forums is, actually?)

I did search there too, but couldn't find anything.

If you or anyone has any links, it would be great if you could share them.

Thanks!

I am not sure you understand, what I mean.

I am talking about the Finale blog.

It sounds like you are talking about the user forums on MakeMusic’s web site.

Here is a link to the Finale blog:

If you go through the blog posts, you will find links to various Finale documents.

I couldn't actually find anything on the blog. Did I miss anything? Anywhere else I could look on the web?

I'm looking for inspiring examples of how to use Garritan for Finale with human playback. It would be interesting to hear all sorts of ensembles -- Baroque, Classical, Jazz, Folk, etc. There are so many instruments and potential it would just be interesting to see what people have achieved!

Thanks!

Then I suppose that you missed blog posts like these two posts about Garritan sounds:

I did see those, thank you. Interesting, but the Abbey Road one doesn't come with Finale I think, and the digeridoo is weird enough!

I found some more stuff on YouTube some of which was good.

But I couldn't find a single website full of Finale scores that people have posted to show off what they've done with it's playback capabilities and get some inspiration from that...

So I guess I'm hoping for too much from HP, or else I missed a good website somewhere!

Many thanks for your kind help!
