I am trying to get a piece to swing 8ths for me starting at a measure later in the piece (straight at the beginning, swung at the tempo change). It has one vocal line and one piano line (treble and bass). I can get the vocal line to swing using the Swing Expression text, but the piano part won't swing the 8ths. Any thoughts on what might be the problem?

Welcome to the forum!

Your problem is well known.
Usually the Swing expression belongs to the expression category Tempo Marks, and the Tempo Marks category has its Score List defined incorrectly.

For the expression category Tempo Marks the Score List should, in the column with the linked parts, have all staves selected.

Check out the Score List for Tempo Marks.
In the column with the linked parts, are all staves selected?

Yes, it sounds crazy that a setting for the linked parts would affect playback in the score.
It is “just one of those things”.
