I'm here too, joined up just before MakeMusic locked their forums.

I think this too and it will start with 'Peaksware' off-loading Garritan libraries to the highest bidder.

Good to see so many familiar names here.

Best wishes,

Michael

Hello from the wild wet coast of Canada!

(Actually, in the spirit of full disclosure, it's +2C out, the sky is blue and Mt Baker is in the centre of my living room window, gleaming in the mid-day sun.)

PS- For those who are interested, the dark, three humped hills close to the base of the volcano are actually the small hills of Orcas Island, where a certain Mr Garritan resides (resided? Unsure if he's still there)

Jon Delfin here, checking in after finally realizing that my user name is cryptic (pronounced A T 8 a-cross).

I, for one, never would have figured that out!

I'm here, and I've brought some nearby friends with me. They have a music of their own.

I'm here as well, and so glad Mike and Peter (et al.) have made a place for us to congregate. Already pleased to see familiar faces and avatars here and looking forward to the continued conversations.
Best wishes for the new year.

IIRC, when I lived out there, the saying was if you can see Mt. Baker it is going to rain within some small number of days. Of course, it was a pretty safe bet whether or not you could see Mt. Baker.

Any chance BVstudios is Burnaby-Vancouver Studios?

Nope- over on the Island, near Sidney, about 20 min north of Victoria. "BV" was my wife's idea- "Baker View"

I'm here.
Thanks to Mike Rosen and Peter Thomsen for being moderators, and for also being so knowledgeable.
And to all of the other 'regulars' from the old forum, (what is MM thinking?) thanks for answering so many questions and providing valuable insight.
It's time to look forward. Happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

I love Finale...it has changed my life!!!! I used to write out everything by hand and for well over 10 years now Finale has made writing music a pleasure. Except when it malfunction. So hopefully we will keep this forum alive for a long time.

I've been reading for the past few days, but neglected to activate my account and log in until now.

I hope this board proves to be as valuable as the old one was.

I'm glad to be here now, helped by a little practice with the similar forum layout on OCTO's http://notat.io/ (although there seem to be some small differences in the way it operates).

I've just checked MM's zendesk forum again, but can't make much of it.

cweeks here, but I've been forced to use this new account due to posting issues. A shame the old forum's gone, but this one will probably be better anyway. The only plus I can see for the old is that MakeMusic reps occasionally dropped by to comment, but since that dwindled to almost nothing over the years, it no longer counts as an advantage. Maybe we'll see some participation here from MM employees under an alias...

I'm here and very happy to find this. I am a sporadic Finale user and the forum has saved me starting from scratch so many times I cannot count. I think I started using finale in 87, is that possible? I have '25' now. In college I was handed pen and ink in the first composition class...true story. The Moog had knobs and loops needed splicing tape. I have to thank all the people who seem to always be here and have always responded. I tried the MM help site, they don't seem to be coming from a compositional or engraving mindset--I do get that the focus of the company as a sports training entity has shifted to the smart music as its primary concern.

I hope to be back here, I cannot recall the password I set up, I set the username sunshinenotes which isn't supposed to work (no characters) and am using an emailed temporary password, I can't seem to create a new one. Remembering the random one will be a challenge. Maybe if I can log in again I can adjust things. I also can't adjust the time in the profile so It seems I'm sitting in a virtual land 5 hours ahead where it is already tomorrow. That does not bother me.....

I'm in the Adk. Mountains, I write music as a hobby. I'm having fun with creating pieces and placing them on Sheet Music Plus Press and am interested in working within the parameters of beginning students. I work for an orchestra during the day and want to write things my grandkids will enjoy.

I'm back here for the first time in a few years. I had to reactivate my account since it was associated with an old Recordare email address.

I'm here. I expect to use this forum more as the MM sites have been effectively hosed for the nonce.
