Hi everyone; How do you create a blank measure that doesn't have the whole rest marker?
Finale 2009 Win 7

Thank you!

You could place a whole rest in and hide it.

Enter a "real" whole rest and hide it. I believe the shortcut to hide using either entry tool is "H".

There is also this:

"Staff->Edit Staff Attributes->Display Rests in Empty Measures"

It applies to the entire staff, however, not an individual measure.

Select the note or rest, and tap the H key. (I think in speedy, you can tap the H or the O.)

It may still show as faded on the score, but it won't print. You can adjust the degree of transparancy in Program Options.

It depends on which entry mode you are using.

Simple
Select the rest/note (CTRL-click on object) and press the "H" key.
When entering notes/rests, the object is already selected, so just press "H".

Speedy
Position the cursor bar over the note/rest and press "H".
When entering notes/rests, just press "H" after entering.

Hey Mike,
Never knew about the "O" in Speedy!
