Hello friends.

I'm working on a part for a violin which has a detuned string.

In order to show both the fingering and the sounding result, I extracted the part and tried to duplicate the staff with no luck.

Many of the bars have extra notes (non-standard notation), so when I copy the music to a new staff everything is messed up. Probably because Finale takes into account the whole duration of the music and sums it up...rebarring the whole.

Tried many options and the hree different ways of copying. tried with F2014 as well.

No luck.

Any Ideas? Would be terrible to re-do all this 10-minute part amanually with all the manual note positioning.

Thank you-

All the best

I. L.

If you could post a sample file, we could look to see what might be done.

Here it is! Thanks for looking at my issue.
(I saved this from F 2014).

hope you can get it from here since .musx files are not allowed in this forum as attachments, and I can't post URLs as a new user...just replace "dot" with .

I tried your instructions to get to dropbox but without success. Try compressing the file and attaching here.

The overfilled measure is the problem. Try changing the measure to a higher number of beats and then it should work. I tried 5/4. After pasting, I changed it back to 4/4.

P.S.: Be sure to uncheck Rebar, and only select the one measure.

Haha a pretty cool workaround you found!

Still messin' up some smartshapes but you saved me a great amount of time. Thanks! I tried on a small portion of score and will see how the rest goes.

( Anyway I think Makemusic could fix this. Why not a "duplicate staff" thingy for Finale 26? :D )
