Hi
I have a score with some instruments and two keyboards. When I export it as midi file the 2 keyboards are merged into one track. I don't want that so I go into the Score Manager. Here the 2 keyboards are both unknown instrument and the sound is both pizzicato. I need the first keyboard to be a Grand Piano and the other Keyboard to be Pizzicato. How can I do that?
If I select Piano (in the instrument column) Finale creates a new staff inside the Piano grand staff. What can I do?
I have to say it's an old score that created around 2004

The first thing to do in the ScoreManager is to give each instrument its own midi channel (last column to the right). Then define the instrument patches.

If I was going to do serious work on a file converted from 2004, I would either create Piano groups the new way, and then copy the data from the old staves (then delete the old staves), or I would set up a new file properly, and copy the data from the old file. You will be much happier when things are in good order.

If you need help, post the file here and we can give better advice.

I found out about the midi channels. Of course they should be different. :D
I´m actually not going to work on the files, I just have to import the midi into Cubase to create some tracks for a show.
I think you solved the problem, so thank you!
