I'd like to create a breath mark shape expression so that it has no playback effect. I did this with a tremolo, for which I used alt+0190 (several months ago, Zuill provided the alt number for the tremolo articulation). What is the alt number for a breath mark? And how do I see the alt numbers for all articulations in the Maestro font? I cannot find anything in Finale help. A breath mark is not listed in the Finale numeric character set, and Insert Symbol provides only the unicode "U+F02C." Thanks.

Thanks, N, but there's no alt code for the Maestro font breath mark--none that I can find. Does that mean a Maestro font breath mark has no alt code? Instead, I used Times New Roman and alt-0146 in 26 pt. bold. The Maestro breath mark is on the left; my new one is on the right. Pretty close.

Thanks, Motet. The alt-044 and the comma worked! How did you learn the breath mark alt code? The Alt code I think is 044, but you should just be able to type a comma in the shape designer after setting the Maestro font.

If you want to find the alt number for a Maestro character, any tool where you can enter a character by Text/Insert/Symbol (or similar step) will give you the available symbols. Each one has a number. I believe you add 0 in front of the number. So, 44 would be alt-044.

Thanks, Motet. You can use Windows character map or similar. No need for an Alt code if it's a typable character.
