I want to change my time signature and then have notes shifted to different measures as needed. For example if I have 4 measures at 3/4 time and I changed it to 4/4 time I would now have 3 measures with all 4 notes entered. And of course I want to be able to go the other way too. Take 3 measures in 4/4 time and create 4 measures in 3/4 time.

Is there anyway to do this? The plug-ins for merge and split measure seem like a start but it looks like they only work on a limited number of measures and aren't tied to the time signature changes.

Just be careful, because Finale won't execute the rebar on empty measures. So you may end up with some parts shifted more or less than others.

The way around this is to create REAL whole rests in the empty bars, rebar, then remove the real rests. I think TG Tools has a function for this. (It's been a while since I did this last).

Honestly, I can't imagine how they thought it was a good idea to ignore empty measures.

Have you tried to COPY your music, clear, rebar, than paste from the same point?
