I just began using a trial version of Finale 25 (Windows). I write mainly for guitar. I cannot find the typical symbol for indicating which string is preferred for playing a particular note. This is a small circle, in which are the numbers 1-6. So a circle with a 1 indicates play on 1st string. Can this symbol be created or otherwise imported into Finale?

Check the guitar templates provided with Finale, they have them, too.

Here is yet another link to a Guitar Strings font.

While you can take these characters right from the font as text, I would suggest that you make expressions or articulations using the characters from the font. Expressions would be much easier and faster to use than text characters directly from the font. They could be put into an expression category to help manage and group the symbols.
