Hi all,

I want to print my A4 page size Finale score to PDF using Print>Save as PDF, but a message comes up saying that "The size of some pages in the document does not match the size of the paper in the printer. Do you wish to proceed?"

I do indeed have A4 paper in the printer. Anyway, when I print it to PDF, there is a large blank space at the top of each page. This is not apparent in the finale screen.

What do I need to do to rectify this issue? Any help appreciated!

Cheers,
Hector Pascal.

Meanwhile, Back At The Ranch....

I have just noticed that in File>Page Setup, it is set to A4. HOWEVER, in Page Layout>Page Size, it is set to Letter.

I thought that I selected A4 in the setup wizard. I will save a copy and finger poke the Page Size settings and report back....

Any help still appreciated :)

Cheers,
HP.

UPDATE:

I have now finger poked the Page Size settings so that it matches the A4 size specified in Page Setup.

My score experienced a tectonic plate shift of about 4.8 on the Richter scale, however all is OK. The warning message no longer appears, and the blank space at the top of the page no longer appears.

Finale's Page Size and Page Setup is a bit of a trap for young players!

Cheers,
Hector.

As you have discovered, both Finale's and Apple's page setup have to match. This is new to 25 and takes some getting used to.

Last time I looked at the Help files, they weren't accurate in this regard and only added to the confusion. I hope that MM gets that fixed.

You are not on a Mac. Printing changed in 25.

Yes, although I'm not sure I can tell you much about it other than that it works for me perfectly as a virtual printer for creating PDFs when I'm not connected to a physical printer.

The other thing I've used it for is for having page sizes such as B3 and even A2 listed in my system, even though my domestic physical printer only goes up to A4.
