When I use "drag and drop" using Selection tool, some expressions are duplicated. Consequently, in my Technique category I find numerous duplicated expressions, everytime I perform D&D.
Why does it happen?

Are you using 'edit filter'? You can select what copies and what doesn't.

This is not filtering. Dynamics get duplicated. Every time I copy paste it adds one more item. So when I open Expression window, there are tens of same dynamic symbol.

Why don't you post a 1 page example file of where this is happening? This behavior is unusual, to say the least.

The only thing I can think of is if they are Shape Expressions - those will copy as duplicates, I think.

I noticed the same thing but wasn't sure what caused it. Thanks for the pin-point. This is defiantly a bug, you should report it.

The only reason I can think for this happening is if you are copying between documents. I get this all the time when I am trying to "clean up" an old file by copying it into a new document. If I break it up into smaller copying jobs, then expressions duplicate EVERY time I copy over.

I've never had this happen in my 20 years using Finale. I suppose it would happen to everyone if it was a bug, so I can't imagine there is a bug. Maybe we need to check the file to see what might be happening.

Really? There is the arcane business of, if shapes aren't applied with a metatool, when you stretch or edit one, you edit the definition itself and they all change (in 2014.5, the program fails to update the display after this and the screen must be redrawn manually to see the result), while if you apply them with a metatool, they can be edited individually. But these metatooled copies don't appear on the Expression Selection page.

In fact, you can delete the original expression and the metatooled versions will remain, but unavailable from the Expression Selection menu or a metatool.
