I wish to get rid of the Simple Entry Palette permanently - can't figure out how to do it. I can click on Window, then uncheck Simple Entry Palette. If I leave the tool, then return to it, the palette is back, and right in the center of the screen, obscuring my music.
If I move the palette to the side where it's out of the way, the palette always returns dead center. Annoying, as I must manually remove the palette every time I switch to the simple entry tool. Any solution?

What OS version are you on? The palette should remember where you placed it: You can Save Preferences to make sure.

If that's still not happening, then there's something odd going on, and you should contact MakeMusic to see if they can help.

Thanks for the quick reply. At the moment the palette is staying on my 2nd monitor, out of the way. I rarely use it, so I wish I just had the screen real estate back. But it's usable as long as it remembers the last position.

You could try this-

Set your monitor resolution super high, drag the palette to the edge of the screen, SAVE PREFERENCES, then reset the resolution.

Two monitors is a particular usage, which can cause problems with Finale. It might depend whether you've got the monitors set as different spaces or not.

Just for grins, try dragging the palette back to your primary monitor then uncheck that menu item. There are times when things on the secondary monitor don't get dealt with properly by Finale, especially on Windows.

I used two monitors for a while. I use two monitors all the time for Photoshop and Lightroom. They both work well. Finale doesn't work as well but it can be done. It is clunky at best. I contacted MM about it. They said Finale isn't designed to use two monitors so you are just using what Windows can do.

If you have another version of Finale like 2014.5 and 25, you can run one version on each monitor. Still clunky but it does work. It would be nice if you could copy and paste between the two but you can't.

Have you tried Clip Files?

On Windows:
1) Edit
On Mac (I think):
1) Finale

2) Preferences
3) Palettes and Backgrounds
4) Under Palettes, check the box: "Close Simple Entry palette when leaving tool".

THANK YOU!! Easy fix, and I just missed it. Didn't think of looking at that menu for a solution.
