I'm on 2014.5 for Mac

I entered a rolled chord articulation yesterday that will not permanently delete, it keeps coming back. I have deleted it using the contextual menu as well as the delete key, but to no avail. It deletes for moment, but then reappears when I playback or go to the print box. I'm not sure if it's related, but have had a few crashes today while working on my document. Hoping someone can help?

It's obscured by the sharp, but there are two handles there for each arpeggio, and apparently you must select both to delete it. While in the articulation tool, use a mouse to drag a rectangle around the measure, then press Delete.

You've every right to be confused--poorly implemented.

If you click on the arpeggio symbol with the Selection Tool, it will highlight. Hit delete and it's gone. I use the Selection Tool exclusively for highlighting items in order to delete or nudge them. It's especially useful when multiple symbols are overlapping one another - click, and if the wrong symbol highlights, keep clicking the same spot and you'll cycle from one to another.

I'm a Selection Tool maniac.

Indeed.
Some users say that the Selection Tool is the “Tool Tool”.

What's wrong here is if you select only one of the two arpeggio handles and press Delete, it disappears from the screen but really hasn't been deleted. Pressing Play causes it to be redrawn.
