I saw 4 differnt editions of Fugue n. 5 in D Major, by JS Bach, and all of them have the same notation.
I am trying to do an exercise of Orchestration for Strings and notate measure 3.
The notation of the beat of Left Hand 1 m. 3 surprises me.
When I finally write unchecking Checking for extra notes on Simple/ Simple Entry Options , I never get to make coincide the beginning of beats 2, 3 and 4 of Left and Right hands.
So the playback is not the wanted one.
How could I get get them coincide?
Appreciate your help

I guess you mean measure 3, which is indeed unusual. The dot is equivalent to a 32nd note, so it's like an eighth tied to a thirty-second. For your purposes, I would just rewrite it like this:

So, to get proper playback, one would need to make an unusual tuplet of the dotted eighth. Make it 1 Dotted 8th in place of 5 32nds. Have no number and no shape, as you don't want anything to show. It will look as the original and also line up in playback. Also, you won't need to overfill the measure.

That's the solution I was looking for on m. 3, the one of your attached document
