Hey everyone,

I realize this may not even be possible, but I figured I would try. I am manually exporting each measure of a 100+ measure finale 2014 document as a graphic file for use in a powerpoint document for my students.

Is there a way I can make a finale script to export each measure in the document as a graphic and name them accordingly?

Thanks in advance!

Sam

I don't think so.

If the measures are broadly the same size, it might be possible to automate cutting them up outside of Finale, once they're already graphics.

Take a look at the attached file. You could copy in each measure to a file like this, print to PDF, name the file and you're good to go. If the content and widths for each measure are the same, one file configuration is all that's needed. You can regulate the width of each measure by increasing or decreasing the width of the "page", using the Page Layout Tool. You can hide the clef and time signature, if not needed.

Finale won't do what you want, and at this point you're reduced to making as little work as possible for yourself, as well as having consistent results.

If the issue is making all the measures of the same width, then it might be a good idea to put each measure in its own system.
(Utilities menu > Fit Measures…)

Set the desired system margins in
Document menu > Page Format > Score…
and then
Page Layout menu > Redefine Pages
