Messiaen referred to the octotonic/diminished scale as Mode 2, as in the 2nd mode of limited transposition. Btw, the C should have been a C# in the test!

It would have been (to me at least) a more interesting test were more on actual usage and less on nomenclature. (Not that nomenclature isn't important though.)
