Hey everyone.

I'm working on a large project at the moment that involves taking a huge library of lead sheets (created over the past 10+ years by a number of different arrangers), reformatting them and creating versions in multiple keys.

These charts have been mangled to various degrees at various points in time, so there are chords that have been manually moved, stems, ties and slurs flipped, rests raised and lowered etc. They all look fine in their original keys, but once I start the transposition process I find stems that won't naturally go the right direction, or I'll find that a row of chords have been dragged into a weird position (without using the arrows) etc.

Is there a way to just reset all of this stuff? Or a way to 'unlock' stems so that they aren't permanently set in a particular direction, allowing them to change as the charts get transposed higher or lower?

Many thanks on any advice you might have!

Jared

Select all, then:

Stems - Utilities > Stem Direction > Use Default Direction
Chords - Utilities > Change > Chords > Just clicking OK will clear them to default position

Is there a similar option for lyrics?

All of the above will fit perfectly into a Finale Script.
