Hi everybody; How do I insert a final bar line mid-measure for a song that has pick-ups? I know I can create two bars and hide time sigs, but is there an easier way?
Thanks!!~

Eb

As a Shape Expression. The scenario will determine the viability of this approach.

Unless I'm mistaking what you want, the split-measure plug-in is pretty easy! After you run it, right-click to set the final barline. The plug-in takes care of time signatures and measure numbering. So that's only two steps. But I don't know how this fits into a pick-up, so maybe I'm not understanding.

For simply entering a final barline in a single staff, there is a shape expression already existing in the default document. For a final barline, at a Fine, for example, I do this quite frequently. This approach doesn't work as well when there is a need to span staves (as in a group). For that, this approach is not as useful. Thus my comment about the scenario.

But doesn't that require tinkering with spacing so the notes aren't too close to it?

Again, the scenario determines the approach. We don't know what that is. If the OP would share a file, then the best advice can be given.
